Today brought some good news. No, I'm still not employed. But I was pleased to see Udai and Quasay Hussein go "tango uniform" and take the celestial dirt-nap. These two ass-darts brought down the average for the rest of us. Our species got better when they departed. That whole blood-line needs to get truncated. Now we need to cap that asshole Saddam and get that country back on track to the 13th century.

I'm sorry that Spoogeworld took a dive today. It took a couple of hours to get it back up and running. We had a major power outage here, and my UPS can't keep it running forever. I was out of the house, dodging severe weather and falling trees, so I was unable to get back and do a clean shutdown, and the server died a painful death. The good news is that with several hours of work, and a null-modem cable, I was able to bring it back. So, if you notice anything awry, please let me know, and I'll do my best to fix it.

I did have an interview late last week. I was able to answer their technical questions, but for some reason, they didn't want me (in my humble opinion, I never had a chance). The job prospects out there are bleak (at best), and I'm doing all that I can to find the next company that is smart enough to hire me.

For my loyal readers that don't live nearby, we had some severe thunderstorms here today. Part of the nice thing about living so far from the "big city" is that you're isolated and it's quiet. The bad part is when the power goes out for longer than a few seconds, it's going to be out for a few hours. The storms that came through today knocked down at least 10 trees out back. Luckily, the house and cars were undamaged, but there are limbs and branches everywhere. Some of the trees that fell were 2 to 3 feet in diameter. These were not small trees. We had 70 mph winds (~117 kph), hail, heavy rain, lightning, frogs, boils, brimstone, and whatever else fell from the skies. One of the trees that was sheared off had a dark streak running though its middle, telling me that lightning probably left its mark.

You know it's a good day when a landmark in France is on fire. Let's leave it at that.

North Korea seems to be trying to pound its meat to make it seem like a world power. But let's face it - it's a poor piece of shit in the world's backyard. The best thing that could happen to it would be nuclear fallout after a few nuclear bombs cleared out the gargoyle who runs that dump. The "innocent" communists who live there would probably thank us for relieving their hunger.

To the Democrats who continue to try to make hay out of the 16 words from the State of the Union address: Bush's statement, no matter HOW you look at it, was factual as stated by him. When they mis-quote it in the news, they always leave out the subject of the sentence to change the meaning of the sentence, which is only dishonest for the person who's Dowdifying his remarks. If you look at the statement AS IT WAS STATED, there was no lie told. British Intelligence DID state that Hussein had tried to buy uranium from Africa, and they've stood by their statement. Whether or not he had, there was evidence to suggest that he had, and that report may end up being true. The knuckleheads who would be king need to stop being stupid or they have less change of becoming President than a fart in a breeze.
