Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it. How many times have we heard that warning? Well, for the lazy, greedy, money-grubbing dolts of Puerto Rico, they have learned that important lesson. The island of Vieques, long used as a training area for Naval pilots to do live-fire bombing exercises, will lose its biggest economic resource. For years the residents have protested the Navy's presence on that island. They've called them every name in the book, and they've DEMANDED that they leave. They've broken down the Navy's gates. They've hurt military policemen and dogs. They've demanded that the Navy stop the bombing exercises. Well, they got their wish. The Navy has announced that they will pull out of Puerto Rico. Now the dolts are accusing the Navy of "economic revenge". That's what it is. The knuckleheads demanded that the Navy leave; and now they have. They never thought that the Navy would close the entire base. Well, they did. And now the island has lost a $300,000,000 asset. A union worker there called it a "kick in the you-know-what". They talk about their "dedication" and "loyalty". Where was this dedication and loyalty from the governor? She still stands by her "demand" that the Navy leave.

You see, they don't want the Navy there, just the free jobs and plentiful Federal money. But they have learned an important lesson. One that Democrats just don't seem to get. Individuals must be RESPONSIBLE for their actions. Actions have CONSEQUENCES. If you want to rant and protest, that's a Right we all share. But beware that your actions can come back to bite you square in the ass. And as the welfare recipients on Puerto Rico are finding out, sometimes it has a high price. In this case, $300 million. The citizens there didn't care that the loss of the "best" training area has cost Americans their lives, they just cared about the money flowing in. Well, there are prices to be paid, and now the check is coming due for them.

While I'm at it, let's go back to Bob Graham. This knucklehead who wants to be President has delusions. He referred to himself as the former "President of Florida". OK. Still not convinced? He said that the American people can "impeach" Bush in November 2004. Now, this is a Senator in the U.S. Congress who doesn't even know how impeachment works? No wonder why Clinton wasn't convicted. People like Graham don't even understand the process. Thanks to the people in Florida, many of which cannot accurately cast a ballot, this moron holds a position of power while intelligent people remain out of work. People love to make fun of Bush as stupid, yet even Bush's worst blunder makes him seem like a rocket scientist by comparison to Graham.

And if Graham isn't dumb enough for you, there's always Dennis Kucinich. He wants to cut the military's spending by 15% (at a time of war, no less!!!) to give $60,000,000,000 to a federally funded government internment camp for young children (formerly known as nursery school). Now, no where in the Constitution does the Federal government have the authority to create schooling. There's a little part of the Constitution that the people in Congress have forgotten about (or just plain ignore) that says something about all remaining powers being given to the states. Now people like Kucinich have no idea how they get their power, nor do they feel the need to be accountable to anyone. But if they are allowed to create Federal indocrination programs from birth, they will just create bigger and bigger educational propoganda machines to preach bigger and bigger government programs. Somewhere there has to be a limit on its size. If it is not kept in check, it will collapse on itself, much like a chair in Ted Kennedy's house.

Here's an interesting bit from the "Best of the Web Today":

"America's prison population grew again in 2002 despite a declining crime rate," the Associated press reports. Of course, this should read: "America's crime rate declined again in 2002, thanks to an increase in the number of criminals behind bars."

Only the biased media could cause and effect so confused. Their lust for taking simple facts and politicizing them, rather than reporting them, amazes me. Unfortunately so many people are so stupid that they believe the crap that gets printed without questioning it.

If you think the example above is shameless, here's another quote from the same source (I think the Best of the Web Today is the best reading of every day!):

If you see a whole monkfish at the market, you'll find its massive mouth scarier than a shark's. Apparently it sits on the bottom of the ocean, opens its Godzilla jaws and waits for poor unsuspecting fishies to swim right into it, not unlike the latest recipients of W's capital-gains cuts.

WTF????? This is from a FOOD column. Where does this dildo get off using a fluff piece on food to criticize the President? There are two things that you can count on from the New York Times: it has a crossword puzzle, and the rest of it can be used to wrap many a fish.

Pop quiz: Who is Joe Arpaio? He's the Sheriff out in Phoenix. I think he's the same one who took the "hot lunch" away from the prisoners and replaced it with a cold lunch (sandwich) to save money from the taxpayers who board them at their expense. I've heard him talk, and I like his style. He set up tents outside to house the overflow of the detritus of society that have landed in his care, rather than give them a room at the involuntary hotel there. When the "residents" complained about the heat, he advised them that our military suffers in the heat in Iraq, and that the soldiers hadn't committed crimes. Touche. It's about time someone told prisoners to shut their pie-holes and quit pissing and moaning about their conditions. If they don't like the conditions, maybe they should make different career choices.

See what else I have to say Previous day's rant
