WTF is up with NOW?. Those knuckleheads (at least the branch in Morris County, NJ) want to impose their will upon the good people of California. That is their first mistake. They don't want the prosecutors in the Scott Peterson murder trial to charge him with double murder. Well, their problem is that (1) they don't live in California, and (2) they aren't in the legislature and don't have control over the existing law. So, now that they don't have jurisdiction, it should be a non-issue. But it isn't. Because these knuckleheads are concerned that if Scott is tried for murder, then they "fear" that the prosecutors can use that to convict a woman who willingly has an abortion of murder. Now, abortion rights are a hotly contested issue, and both sides have compelling arguments. I don't wish to debate Roe v. Wade here. But I think that there is an ENORMOUS difference between a woman making a conscience choice and her husband killing her and her unborn baby. To use this tragedy to further your political cause is also a tragedy. While there is a time to engage in healthy debate over the issue, I don't think this is the time or place to make it your last battlefield. Let's find a different case to test law upon. I don't think Laci's family want her memory to be diminished by NOW. They should've learned from their last debacle (only 18 protesters in Augusta??) that they need to be more careful in picking their battles.
Once a terrorist, always a terrorist. Yassar Arafat has refused to disarm his terrorist group Fatah, even though the new Prime Minister for the Palestinians has ordered it. I've maintained that Arafat does not want peace in the region, and has actively controlled, authorized, supplied, and funded it. Now it turns out that all of the evidence proves my claim. And he has not stopped the terrorism, even though he signed the Oslo accords and promised to stop terrorism. He hides behind the names, but they all report to him. He received land in exchange for peace, peace he hasn't given, and had no intention of ever delivering upon. He is just another thug, and needs to go away. He has stolen money intended for his people and used it to enrich his own life, even while "his people" starve. He lost one of his major arms suppliers in Saddam Hussein, but he still actively purchases banned weapons, and builds bombs destined for civilians. He won't give any power to anyone else, regardless of the harm it will cause his people. His only cause is the destruction of Israel, and anything which does not further that goal is unacceptable to him.
Scott Peterson pleads "not guilty" - big surprise. I'm waiting for him to plead self-defense, or some other asinine ploy. I know the trial hasn't started yet, but I can feel any way that I wish. And I feel he is a murdering son of a bitch. I believe he did it, I believe he planned it, and I'm going to be happy when he gets sentenced to death. If you don't think he's guilty, just look at one piece of evidence. After reporting his wife missing, the police came to his house to look for leads into her disappearance. When they came to his door, he asked if they had a warrant, and refused to let them in. That doesn't sound like a man trying to find his wife. He sold her car, because he knew she wasn't coming back. He's lied again and again, and the police have enough evidence to convict him. And they will. And he will get sentenced to death, if there are 12 sane people left in California.
