If you build it, they will come.... all over you. A man in Washington decided to help the Little League crunch in his town by building a regulation field on his own property. He didn't ask for donations, and he used no government money to build it. So you know that the city had to get involved, even though it was on his own (30 acre) lot. Claiming that neighbors complained, the city wants him to acquire FOUR permits, for things like fences and parking and run-off. Do I believe that any neighbors complained? No. Do I think he's creating a dangerous environmental condition? No. But I think the city is upset that he didn't give them their pay-off (in permit fees), and they don't want him to own the field, since then they have limited (if any) controls there. What did this man do that was so awful? He paid for it out of his own pocket. He was trying to help kids, who are losing out by the city threatening him with $250 fines every times he uses his own field. This is yet another government outrage. When are YOU going to send the message to your elected officials that they are using their power for things beyond the necessary. Remember, our Country was founded on the principle that only the MINIMUM necessary government should be established, and only for the purposes necessary to allow us to pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness. No where in the Constitution does it say that you can't build a field to help some kids. Nor does it say that the purpose of government is to collect fees. The people that we've elected have gone too far. It's one thing to keep toxic chemicals from being dumped from a manufacturing plant into a stream that feeds the water supply. It's quite another to stop a man from building a ball field on his own property. We need to send a message. You keep sending the same ass-clowns back into office. Enough is enough. And if you elect those nit-wits from the Green Party, you'd better not complain when they make even more regulations, many of which will legislatenew behaviors for you, and make things cost more money. The Greens have these wonderful ideas, like soy-based fuels, but they don't tell you what they will cost. They are also anti-capitalist, and want a 100% income tax on all money earned over $50,000. If you put them in power, then you've made your own bed.

Who cares if Iraq had weapons of mass destruction? What difference would it have made? Hussein had violated 17 UN resolutions, at least 3 of which promised the use of force in the event on non-compliance. Since he hadn't complied (at least not honestly) with any of those 17 resolutions, that alone was reason to go in there and take his ass out. Then you add the genocide against the Shi'ites and the Kurds. Is that reason enough? OK, add the fact that he was giving millions to al Qaeda. Not enough? OK, he was also giving millions to Hamas and Arafat (who was using that money to fund the "al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade"). How many evil things were we supposed to overlook? The stories of rapes and tortures coming out of the liberated alone justifies our actions. The countries that didn't care enough to join us basically said that Hussein's actions were just fine with them. So, to France, China, Russia, Germany, and Belgium - don't cry to us when your leaders treat you the same way. If you can condone the actions in Iraq, you can't complain when they come home to roost in your henhouse.

I always love it when ass-clowns like Nancy Pelosi refer to families who make $10,000 a year as "working families". I'd say if a whole family can't generate even 1 minimum-wage job, they aren't working, they're vacationing. Pelosi plays the class-warfare card as well as anyone. Too bad she doesn't get it. When she refers to the tax cut "leaving behind" people who don't pay taxes, she's correct. You can't reduce their zero tax burden further. What she wants is a gift to the poor, the lazy, and the stupid (her constituents) from those who've earned it. But to get the money for the gift to those who haven't earned it, she has to first take the money away from someone who has. That's called a TAX INCREASE. That is the opposite of a tax cut. And her claim that those who are getting the cut "don't need it" is just most elitist bullshit. Don't tell me what I do or don't need, you pompous bitch. I need that money that I earn to provide for MY family, not someone else's. Nancy, are YOU going to pay for my daughter's wedding? How about her college education? How about her shoes, her food, her toys, her furniture, and her clothing? No? You don't want that burden? OK then, let me provide for her - with the money that I earn. It's not your money to spend - any money you get is a gift from me. The fact that you take it from me at the point of a gun just makes me angry about it. The fact that you give it to undeserving people (have you read my Wal-Mart story you ass-dart?) just pisses me off. I'd love to flush the entire Welfare system and all of the "tax credits" away, along with the income tax, and let everyone live on what they can earn. Those who are truly "needy" should find help from families or private charities, and the rest will have to just work harder. The evil rich "robber barons" that Pelosi refers to are people like me, who've just spent SEVEN AND A HALF MONTHS out of work. It's laughable to think of myself as rich when I don't own a car that's newer than 11 years old, and I don't own my own house. Of course, I don't have the government giving me free money to buy a new car or a house (Section 8 provisions allow for cash gifts to "poor" people to buy a house, and that money doesn't have to be repayed, even upon sale of the house). On the other hand, everything I do own is mine, and I have pride in that. When I look at the foreign nationals buying their food with my money, I wonder why they never thank me? Then I remember - I am the "evil rich" "robber baron" who only had to work hard for his money.

Of course, after all of that about poor people needing "tax credits" (gifts), I read on CNN that "75% of families who earn less than $15,000 a year don't have a personal computer". That means that 25% do - and if they can afford a PC, they don't need to plunder MY pocket for anything. The other 75% have cause the Federal Government to set up a website (paid for by us) to make it easier for them to plunder our money with their own debit card! Great, make it easier for them to take money from us. I heard once that they should be forced to use a special line in the grocery store that well-marked so that everyone can see who is spending their money. I like that idea. The gift should come with a price attached - like being forced to use a special line. Wearing an orange vest while shopping would be a nice touch too. They should thank those in the other lines for the gifts that we provide them, if only they recognized that it is a gift, and not a Right.

The "gay rights" crowd is up in arms because the Department of Justice isn't allowing them to hold a "gay pride" celebration day. Now, there are several things I could say about this. Am I upset that they are gay? No, that's fine with me. I will never criticize someone for their behavior in their own bedroom. I don't care what sexual habits they have, as long as they aren't hurting someone or abusing children. But do we really need a "gay pride" celebration? Really. Think about it. Where do we draw the line? It's one thing to have periodic days off to celebrate wonderful events (such as Independence Day) or wonderful people (George Washington's birthday). Those recognize great things about our Country. Memorial Day recognizes those who've given their lives for our Country. That's a good thing to commemorate. But gay pride? I think it's over the line. We don't have "heterosexual pride" day. I also think we should neuter all other "pride" events. We shouldn't celebrate what makes us different in this Country. That goes against the spirit of founding principles, which was that we're all "created equal" here. Anything which points out the differences between us is divisive by definition, and only helps to segregate us as a people. It's like saying "Some of my best friends are gay". It's as much insulting to the speaker of the sentence as it is the object. In spite of the recent perversions of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (among others), what MLK talked about was a Country in which we were all just fellow citizens. His vision was about a place where we didn't label ourselves, or hyphenate ourselves, or create walls which divided us into demographic units. Every time I am asked to fill out a racial profile sheet, I get mad that they are dividing people into groups. They're asking you to take sides. It's all part of the Democrats ideology to segregate people into demographic units (groups) by which they can then buy their votes. Whatever happened to individuals in our society? We don't hold them responsible any more. No one is at fault for anything, unless they're a straight white adult male. Every one else has an excuse. So please, don't ask for any days off to celebrate group diversity - take time to celebraate the individual. That includes taking a holiday for a religious holiday - even though you may pray as a group, your commitment to your deity is based upon personal devotion.

OK, now that I've pissed everyone off, it's time to enjoy my weekend.
