I know I've taken off for a few days. What makes a good rant is anger. Since this weekend was the annual celebration of the birthing of Baby Spooge, I wasn't angry about anything, and I lost my anger for a few days. Luckily, the mood passed, and I'm back on my game.

Ship of fools

It's time to put Nichols to rest. Remember Terry Nichols? He's the asshole who helped Timothy McVeigh bring the U.S. into a new realm of terrorism. McVeigh is currently serving out the rest of existence trying to feed worms, if you remember correctly. He was convicted and put to death. I'm surprised no one's vandalized his grave yet. Nichols is accused of helping McVeigh. Since I'm not a governmental employee, I'm not bound by the same "presumption of innocence" restrictions. I can say that this asshole is probably guilty of the 160 counts of first degree murder that he's charged with, and I hope they bury him under the jail. Before they bury him, I hope someone commits an act of desecration against his corpse.

18 down. It looks like we had another wanted Iraqi surrender today. The 5 of Hearts, AKA "Mrs. Anthrax" has surrendered. Since I'm sure she doesn't play heavy metal, I'm assuming that means she's a veteran of biological weaponry. 18 down, 34 to go.

Scott Peterson wants a change of venue. He claims he can't get a fair trial where he lives. Oh, I think he'll get a fair trial. But I don't think a change of venue will alter the outcome. I don't know of a place in this country where people take kindly to multiple murderers. Changing the judge won't matter much either. The man killed his wife and unborn child. As a parent and a husband, that is just unthinkable. It's one thing to not get along with your wife. However, the solution to that problem is to 1) not get her pregnant, and 2) find a lawyer. If you don't want to be with her, leave her, don't kill her. Why did the trouser-snake even marry her?

Ship of fools. Democrats gathered in South Carolina to "debate" each other in an attempt to get free TV time. No surprise, they all view their opponent as Bush, and they all worry about dividing their party. What I find interesting is that they are all so out of touch with the majority of the American people. They all basically spoke out against the war with Iraq. Then why do a clear majority of the American people support the effort? 80% of the country was behind the war. Who do they think they're representing? Why did some of them vote to support the war last November in Congress? You know, they're all turning into Al Gore. They support the war, as long as they think there will be no war. Then, when there is a war, and they see 10,000 people on TV, they speak out against the war. Never mind the 300,000,000 people at home who support the war. But since the war's over, that's just going to embarass some candidates next year when the races heat up. The more important issue to me is the "healthcare issue" that these 9 goof-balls are trying to create in this country. Healthcare is a choice in this country. It's not a right. It is a service that you can buy, just like a mechanic for your car. If you have a right to healthcare, who's to say that you don't have a right to a mechanic? The Democrats are fond of trying to take something that isn't broken, and then braking it. After braking it, they offer their other solution - turning it into a government program. The problem is that when you do that to an entire industry, it's called Socialism. If you do it to every industry, it's called Communism. That's exactly where these clowns are going to take you if you let them. Look what they did to their own post office and bank. If they can't run their own stuff, why do you think they can run your affairs? Also, who do you think is going to pay for continuous healthcare coverage from cradle to grave? Kucinich from Ohio wants a 7.7% payroll tax on every business to pay for it. Where does that money come from? Do you think corporations will just absorb another 7.7% of the cost? No, they will hire less people, assuring that unemployment skyrockets. The cost per employee will also go up, so prices will go up too. Inflation. Great. Just what we need. Remember the "good old days" we had under Carter? How does 18% inflation sound to you? Also, what do you think will happen when every crackhead and deadbeat realizes they have unlimited free access to healthcare and someone else will be paying the bill? Do you think they'll be asking for the cheapest generic drugs? Do you think they'll only want to have the necessary procedures done? Have you ever seen a county hospital ER ward? Is that the standard of care you want for your family? Here's what will happen: Costs of labor will go up, costs of goods will go up, prices will go up, the healthcare industry, already suffering from a shortage of nurses, will have problems coping with the onslaught of new patients. Patient care will suffer as throngs of patients clutter the healthcare system demanding the latest procedures, and medicines will be rationed. There will be a wait to receive medical services, not unlike what Canada experiences. Once conditions become bad, public outcry (from those not footing the bills) will cause politicians to sieze upon the opportunity and legislate a governmental takeover of the healthcare industry. Then all healthcare workers will be "federalized" and new labor unions will form. Doctors will seek union protection from low wages (costs again go up), staffing will become unionized to ensure a minimum number of doctors on hand, hours will be reduced for doctors, and costs will skyrocket. Insurance for doctors will be unavailable or unaffordable as the potential for any perceived mistake to result in a lawsuit will make the risk too costly. Doctors will retire early to avoid joining unions, so a labor shortage will take place. Future doctors, unable to practice privately, will decide on other industries. The lack of doctors will create riots in the inner-cities, as they claim ther "right" to healthcare is being denied, even though the problem will exist everywhere else as well. Doctors will be unable to pick their place of unemployment, and many more will get out of medicine, as safety concerns will affect their decisions. In short, healthcare will collapse on itself, medical technology, no longer driven by the competitive environment, will stagnate, and everyone will suffer. This is an idea none of us can afford. More people will need the federal system once the costs imposed on employers forces cut-backs and rising unemployment. These 9 idiots have the power to collapse our economy with one idea. Do you want them in charge? As bad as Bush's religious interference into government pisses me off, the Constitution prevents him from going far down that path. But there is no protection for healthcare. We need to keep that at bay by not letting these idiots get into power.
