The GROM factor. Now we're finding out how we secured Umm Qasr so quickly at the beginning of the War. It appears that elite Polish commandos helped secure the city shortly after the war began, so that humanitarian aid could flow to the civilians. A lot of people are overlooking this fact, and I think they should realize what was involved. Poland hasn't fought a war in over 50 years, and they stepped up and sent trained forces who were apparently quite well prepared to handle a difficult situation in a foreign land against battle-tested opposition.
What's diverse that could happen? I'm sorry for the bad pun, but this is another example of how bad people can ruin a good thing. Now, No one that I know wants to see open bigotry, and racist views are shared only by the most loyal Nazis and rednecks these days. So, in an age when people are already questioning the validity of Affirmative Action and racial quotas, the LAST thing people who care about an equal society want to see is this article. When blacks come to this country from other countries, they seek the American ideal - the opportunity to "be all that you can be", based upon your own merits. I know of immigrants who have succeeded marvelously, and are an inspiration to others. Instead of coming here looking for hand-outs, they have advanced degrees and high-level jobs. Their kids are also successful products, and at least one of them is a beauty queen. I've met them, and I think they're nice people. I've met many in my past who fit this bill. Just like my ancestors, they came here with nothing (or close to it), and decided to do they best that they could. So, when I read this article, I get disappointed. The subject is that some "black leaders" are upset that black immigrants don't "recognize" their "problems" because they're black. I'm currently enrolled in Oracle DBA certification taught by a well-versed black man who I believe is an expert at what he does, and has real-world experience utilizing the same skills he's teaching us. I believe that everyone of us has that ability to excel, and we don't need to emphasize "problems" and make issues that aren't there. There are enough REAL issues to address, so that we don't need to muddle the real issues with imagined ones. People shouldn't be told that their victims at birth. They should be taught that there is equal opportunity for all, and then we can deal with the real problems as they arise. Creating a society of victimization doesn't help anyone, and demeans the true plight of those who run into real problems.
Kopp to life. James Kopp, called the killer of an "abortion doctor", was sentenced to 25 years to life for shooting the doctor in his Buffalo home. Now, Kopp isn't the issue. This ass-dart wished he could get 10 death sentences. I'd like to oblige him. What gets my shorts in a bunch is the labelling of Dr. Slepian as an "abortion doctor". He was an obstetrician and a gynecologist. Calling him an "abortion doctor" is like calling a pathologist a "cancer doctor". By the way, Mr. Kopp (AKA "Prom date") said he was "protecting children". Dr. Slepian's widow now has FOUR children who don't have a father - thanks to James Kopp. I hope he gets the Jeffrey Dahmer treatment in prison. Having his head smashed into a toilet would be a nice touch.
Eminem gets a vaginal embolism. Eminem, admittedly not my favorite "artist", agreed to let Weird Al do a video to go along with his parody song and then make a decision after viewing it. Now Eminem has parodied others in his videos, so who'd have thought that he'd have his panties in a wad when Weird Al wanted to parody him? Weird Al is the king of parodies today. Michael Jackson has let him parody TWO of his songs, and Madonna actually gave him the idea for a parody of her song. There is a saying that you're nobody until Weird Al parodies you. I think he needs to unclench his vaginal muscles and let Weird Al release the video - don't make the man finish the video and then say no. That makes you a chump.
