You have to admire Zell Miller. While he is a firebrand on Capitol Hill, he does speak his mind, and maybe more importantly, his heart. This maverick has been targetted by his own party as outspoken. He has admonished the Democrats who would be king for spending their time attacking the President in time of war, rather than coming up with good policies. Amen, brother. Now he has blasted his party for writing a memo which basically stated that the Dems are going to wait until a politically expedient time to start an inquest into who-knew-what-when in the Iraqi intelligence kerfluffle. In other words, their not after the truth, only a good time to try to harm the President. Some intelligence committee. This committee should be the LEAST partisan, but it is looking like the MOST partisan of them all. And through it all, they look more and more like "sore losers" - something this country doesn't need. I admire Zell Miller for being a man of character - his departure from the Senate will be missed. I believe that he is poised to run for President in 2008, much to the chagrin of Hitlary, who has spent years calculating her run for the Oval Office. Zell may be a Democrat, but he hasn't resorted to the race-baiting of a Sharpton, the name-calling of Kerry/Dean/Gephardt/Edwards, and the lunacy of Kucinich. He sounds like a reasonable man. I know from his term as Governor of Georgia that he panders to big businesses and special interests, but so does every other person in Washington. If Kennedy can pander to elderly and unions, why can't Zell through a few bones to his donors?

I don't want to see a Republican or a Democrat win in 2008 (I've assumed that Bush will win in 2004 barring pictures of him with a live boy or a dead girl). I'm still hoping that people will see that more government has resulted in more problems, not less. I'm hoping that common sense will once again prevail, and Freedom will find a home here once again. I'd like to see a Libertarian show the rest how much better we all could be with less interference from Federal intrusions. But, barring that, let's hope that we get a few people with the candor of Zell Miller to run for office. I, for one, would vote for the man. He makes more sense than any of the other 9 nit-wits running for the Democratic ticket in 2004.

Here's a clue to the silly 9 on the left ticket. Instead of tripping over yourselves trying to see who can be the most anti-Bush, why don't you spend some time trying to come up with some answers. Anyone can fight over how empty the glass is. Only the smart can realize how to fill it once again.
