I know that if I don't put this link on my website, people will say that I'm full of shit. But it now appears that the ozone layer is recovering from the recent levels that eco-radicals have been screaming about, claiming that the U.S.'s industrial output was causing this global "catastrophy".

Well, now it turns out that they're wrong, that nothing we have done seems to have affected it, no one knows why it changes, and we're all going to be just fine.

The main reason why I never fell for the alarmist eco-radical bullshit was that in order for me to take it seriously, they must first use some sort of science (other than "junk science") to make their case.

When you state that two events are related as "cause" and "effect", you had better be prepared to show how they work together, and isolated (test) cases where a lack of the cause creates a lack of the effect. Since we've only been collecting ozone data for a very small amount of time (in geological time), the data is as consistent as one heartbeart in your lifetime. If you had one irregular heartbeat, does that mean that you are going to die? It's not enough data to tell. The same with "global warming". There was no cause proven to be tied to a perceived effect. It turns out that maybe it just cycles. I have an interesting theory. We have just been in a long solar cycle, during which time solar activity has been at very high levels. Maybe increased solar activity caused holes in the ozone. It is as likely (dare I say more likely?) that the sun caused the ozone holes as man did. In fact, solar activity is more likely to show an effect where the magnetic fields bend in the poles. The sun produces more energy than every living thing on Earth anyway. Shouldn't that outweigh us alone?

Another thing that always bothered me was that the data being gathered that supported the "increase" in the Earth's average temperature was mostly collected at major airports, all of which saw increases in activity during the same monitoring time. Wouldn't it make sense that if you monitor the temperature only at the airports, and air traffic increases, that you would see an increase in the measured temperature?

So, before you start buying "oceanfront property of the future" in Nevada, just remember that the Earth resists major changes that we try to inflict on it, and it does what it wants anyway. Then, relax, and don't worry about ice caps, El Nino, or cows.
