What is wrong with Alabama? These knuckleheads have cost the taxpayers $125,000,000.00 for the sole purpose of promoting a statue of the Ten Commandments, and refusing to remove it from a government building. The judge, Roy Moore, who is a Justice for Alabama, used the word "God" no less than 15 times in his refusal to adhere to a Federal Judge's ruling. Why is he doing this? Well, he referred to "States Rights" (without using those words in sequence) as one reason for his referral. In case Justice Moore doesn't recall, the States Rights argument that thinly veiled the South's argument during the Civil War didn't seem to prevent anything. As usual, these dumb-ass rednecks will stop at nothing (or any Constitutional Amendment) to promote THEIR religion at taxpayer expense. Why do I say "their religion"? Well, Justice Moore referred to the "God of Scripture", which certainly limits his argument to a certain God, not any God. Since he is "promoting" (advertising) for that God, he is in violation of the First Amendment. Now, even if the Federal Judge is in error in imposing a Federal decree on a State government, and in violation of the Tenth Amendment, you have to look at one thing. The Framers of the Constitution ordered the Bill of Rights carefully. The First Amendment was first for a reason - it supercedes the others. So, the Tenth Amendment is important, but not at the expense of violating the First Amendment. Once again a "Bible thumper" tries to use his political pulpit to preach his religious beliefs. It was wrong in 1776, and it is wrong now. His crappy argument that the Declaration of Independence refers to "Nature's God" doesn't hold water either. Nature's God is non-denominational. The God of Scripture refers to a specific religion, and therefore violates the First Amendment.

I am ahead of the curve again. My loyal readers, both of them, will recall that I stated right after the anouncement of the first high school for gay/lesbian/transgendered students that it violated segregation laws. Well, now there's a lawsuit alleging just that. If the students are getting "picked on" in school (like the rest of us never got picked on????) are upset, let the school administrators discipline the bully students. Don't segregate them.

See what else I have to say Previous day's rant
