I love it when the news is a "target rich" environment.

Let's start with Sheila Jackson Lee, erstwhile Representative of some of the dolts in Texas. She'd never make it as a Senator, because you can't find a state with enough morons to elect her across the state. She has to find a targeted area of supporters ( read: welfare recipients) to keep her stupid ass in Congress. This embarrassment to Texas is saying that there needs to be more black names used by NOAA for hurricanes. Now, aside from the total stupidity of her statement, (since when are black people forbidden from being named mainstream names like David or John?) you'd think she wouldn't want blacks to be stigmatized by having their "ethnocentric" monikers associated with wide-scale destructive forces. But then again, this is the same woman who, at a NASA press conference for the Mars Explorer, asked if the Explorer would be able to take a picture of the flag that the astronauts left there. I am NOT making this up. This woman is a pinata of stupidity - no matter which way you smack her, something stupid falls out. She was one of the first names that I added to my "Canonical List of Known Ass-Clowns" for a reason. She should practice a skill that my Grandfather used to preach - it's better to remain silent and have people think that you are stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

How about the Superintendent of Lawrence, Massachusetts? He's fired 24 teachers for failing a basic literacy test. That's bad. What's worse? He can't pass it himself, and he just received a 3% raise. So much for educational standards. We keep pissing away our money to a failed educational system that turns out poorly-educated students who are ignorant at the expense of political correctness and the left-leaning bias of the educational unions.

In a news item that (to me) defies logic, Syria takes over as President of the U.N. Security Council. I am having vague flashbacks and images of a henhouse...

Larry Flynt has decided to run for Governor in California. Some jokes just don't need a punchline.

I'm still in awe that a city prevented a white teacher from teaching black history. The argument that a white teacher can't understand the suffering of the blacks doesn't really make much sense to me. Are they teaching suffering, or history? Why can't a white person teach ANY kind of history? I think they just wanted to make a "blacks only" position - which to me is JUST as offensive as a "whites only" perspective. In fact, coming from their background, they should be ESPECIALLY sensitive not to repeat the very lessons that they learned. Otherwise, we're going to have to start hiring some Nazis to help us teach us about World War 2, and other shameful things.

See what else I have to say Previous day's rant
